What is IRON NEST?

IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator puts you inside a giant land fortress built around retired naval guns. Your orders arrive by typewriter; every hit depends on your own measurements and calculations.

The campaign unfolds in an alternate 1920s where the First World War never happened and Spain becomes the proving ground for industrial warfare.

Read the map, choose ammunition and propellant, set bearing and elevation, then confirm the result through reports and reconnaissance photographs.

Top Tips for New Operators

Check these before firing your first live round.

01

Mark the correct origin

A perfect calculation from the wrong turret position still misses.

02

Record range and bearing

The map arrow supplies both values; the calculator only needs range.

03

Use the first valid charge

Start with the lowest propellant count accepted by the calculator.

04

Verify shell and charge

A correct angle cannot rescue the wrong ammunition load.

05

Set both axes

Match turret bearing and individual barrel elevation before firing.

06

Read the result

Reconnaissance and reports show whether your data needs correction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the two guns use separate settings?

Each barrel can be loaded and elevated independently, while the turret shares one bearing.

Which shell should beginners use?

Follow the order first. HE is the general soft-target shell; AP is intended for armored or underground targets.

No. This is an independent fan-made guide using publicly available game information and official promotional media.
